Briggs IT Services, LLC is a one-person Texas practice built on a simple idea: the firm that hires Briggs works directly with the person doing the work — the same person who runs your review, builds your program, writes the documentation, and answers the phone. James Briggs, Founder

James Briggs founded Briggs IT Services, LLC in 2016, after years in the IT industry — field service, enterprise hardware, help desk, and finally a managed services provider, where he held roles from field service and standard deployments to full-time on-site representative. He started Briggs IT to run a practice on his own terms: one where the relationship is earned through the work, and the person whose name is on the door is the person you deal with.

For its first several years, Briggs IT operated as a traditional managed services provider — the same general IT work most small shops do. But James kept noticing the same thing across his legal and financial clients: they were sitting on serious, specific compliance obligations that no one was helping them understand, let alone meet. Around 2023 he made a deliberate decision to stop being a generalist and specialize — to serve Texas law firms, advisory firms, accounting practices, and tax preparation practices, and to build the documented compliance and cybersecurity work those firms actually need.

Today that’s the whole practice. James runs each engagement end to end — the review, the build, the documentation, and the call when something goes wrong. For a firm that may one day have to prove what it did, that continuity matters: the person who did the work is the person who can stand behind the record.
